Preparation for university and employment is a key part of the Sixth Form programme. All students have the opportunity to complete a five-day block placement in the Summer Term, gaining practical insight into the subjects and careers they are considering. Some placements may be part-time or arranged over several weeks, depending on individual needs and subject modules. 

Students are encouraged to take responsibility for researching and securing placements, with support from tutors throughout the process. We also offer guidance on approaching employers and accessing online or virtual placements through dedicated platforms. Strong partnerships with a range of organisations ensure high-quality, tailored placements for our students. 

Employability and life skills are also supported through external guest speakers and our enrichment programme. These sessions help students develop confidence, understand the world of work, and enhance employability skills—qualities increasingly valued by universities and employers. Work experience provides hands-on learning, opportunities to network, and insights from skilled professionals, giving students a real advantage in future applications.
