Standards & Expectations

Richmond Sixth Form College study programmes are designed to provide students with a structured and challenging learning schedule that supports their development and progression in line with their career plans. All students enter into a home-college agreement outlining our high aspirations, what students can expect from the College with regard to teaching and learning, student support, reporting and the expectations of students in order to ensure success.

Students at Richmond Sixth Form College can expect a high-quality teaching and learning experience and to be treated with respect and consideration. We expect students to behave in an appropriate and respectful manner in return and complete all work set on time and to the best of their ability.

Staff will provide regular feedback and inform students and parents about progress via Aiming High reports three times per year. Students are expected to respond to this feedback in order to improve their work. Each student will be allocated a tutor who will support their learning. In addition, the Sixth Form provides a supervised study centre where students can work in a purposeful environment. We adopt VESPA to support student learning. This is a research-based model, designed to help sixth form students develop the skills and attributes they need to achieve at A Level and Level 3. Each letter stands for a behaviour or characteristic: V for Vision, E for Effort, S for Systems, P for Practice and A for Attitude- which helps students improve their commitment, motivation and outcomes.

Safeguarding our students is of paramount importance and we ask that students wear the photo identity badge provided at all time when on site. Students must adhere to the Sixth Form policies including those on behaviours.
